Good Morning Everybody πŸ™‚

At 9:00am the cats and I are heading out to water the trees & bushes.
Then I plan to make potato salad.
This afternoon we will water the grass and flower/herb gardens.
Lots of gunfire starting at sun up today, hunting season.
I used to hunt but just don't have the heart for it any more.
Plenty of meat at the grocery store should I want it.
Was a time when I was a child that without hunting, we would have had no meat to eat.
I did enjoy the time spent hunting and camping out with my Father and two brothers, leaving my mother and two sisters at home.
It was a wonderful break from them and their constant negativity and neediness. πŸ˜›

Friday, the start of Labor Day weekend.
I have no plans except staying home and playing with beads.
Anybody have anything special planned? πŸ™‚

Happy September! πŸ™‚

Hi Anonymoniker πŸ™‚
How's It going today? πŸ™‚

Been up & running all day long today.
Finally all done doing everything and I'm ready to call it quits for today.
Went grocery shopping, bought food for the cats & me.
Stopped by the thrift shop, bought some nice beads real cheap.
Scooter (the cat) ate my favorite garden lizard. πŸ™
Need to water the trees & bushes tomorrow morning.
Won't be so bad now that the temperatures don't get so unbearably hot.

Long weekend coming up.
Everybody be safe and have fun. πŸ˜€

Hi all you happy home improvers!
Tillie, im so sorry you get stressed out going in public, etc. That must be hard. You are certainly a very strong person. I admire the way you deal with everything you are challenged with!! (((HUG!)))
Tatoulua, it is wonderful how well you keep up with what sounds to me like the best order of priorities!!! And i loved that last line when you said how you missed all the posters, regardless what their houses look like!!!(sorry if that wasnt the exact wording?) That was sweet & really hit home for me, too...ha ha...no pun intended...ha ha
Id been really missing my ex & sad over it the past few days, then last night had more nightmares...the same theme...im in their house & cant get out...maybe it means i cant get it out of my head...i dont know... πŸ™

Good Morning Everyone πŸ™‚

Hi Tatoulia πŸ™‚
Thank you Friend (((HUGS)))
Yes, I miss then all too and wish them well.

Really need to go get groceries, but not today, maybe I will be up to it tomorrow.
Going to do a light general house cleaning today.
Hit the major parts anyways.
Scooter just vomited up his breakfast. He steals other's food and tends to eat more than he can hold. πŸ™
Will clean that up soon as I post this. ;P
Weather has been cooling down a lot here. That greatly motivates me to do things now that it's not so dang hot. πŸ™‚

Everybody try to make this a great Wednesday.
Any plans for the coming Labor Day weekend? πŸ˜‰

Good Morning πŸ™‚

Hi Tatoulia πŸ™‚
Iced tea "CLINK!"
WAY TO GO!!! πŸ˜€
Starting the day with fresh and clean spaces!
To me, just sitting and watching stuff on Netflix is a great way to chill out and just enjoy the experience without worrying about what else I could/should be doing. ;D

Hi Anonymoniker πŸ™‚
So GREAT that the curtains made such an enjoyable difference for you! πŸ˜€
Making a plan and sticking with it until it's completed is so much more rewarding than skipping around and ending up with a half dozen half finished projects.
On days when I feel that I have worked all day long yet nothing has been done
it's because I have been pulled in too many different directions, leaving things half done.
But by finishing just one little task, I feel better.

Taking today off from life.
Going to the dentist for even just a cleaning wears me out mentally & emotionally and I need the down time.
I really hate being touched by humans and it's hard for me to allow that to happen.
Plus, I always have to psyche myself out just to leave the house and go out in public.
I'm doing really good now, especially compared to how I was before. πŸ™‚
Exposure therapy really does work.
Allowing yourself to feel all the fear, worries and discomfort but doing something that terrifies you anyway.
Using the adult rational part of your brain to think your way through.
Then when the experience is over, congratulating yourself for having courage and being victorious! πŸ˜€

Great to wake up to a clean bathroom sink and vanity and a clean kitchen sink/counter. Really refreshing.

Must get to work. Iced tea clinks!!

OKAY I HAD NO IDEA WHAT NETFLIX AND CHILL MEANT. 😬 Just googled it. I guess I was too literal. So funny.

Hey Anony! As always, I come here for encouragement and help and friendship and I want to thank you and Tillie for that! I'm glad you find you are sticking with things longer. So much easier to do when you have someplace to post!!!

Netflix and chill essentially means just doing nothing. Taking a break from the rat race, spending time doing what you want. For me, it means doing what I want without guilt and without having to explain myself. No need to be productive. Sometimes it's nice just to Netflix and chill.

Anony going for a run sounds great! Wish I could join you. Tillie, your stories are so vivid. You are wonderful.

Tiny cat update: neither diabetes nor thyroid. Going to have ultrasound next week, just to see if there is something going on with digestive tract and other organs. She's eating her wet food and seems a little livelier.

Okay I cleaned bathroom vanity tonight, cleaned and scrubbed two kitchen counters and the kitchen sink and did a load of laundry. Unfortunately I am overheated and cannot even do the vacuuming, which would be quick. I can't push right now. I'm too warm. Oh, dishwasher unloaded.

I have til tomorrow to do my Indoor Challenge Plus. My bathtub is gross. I hope I do it.

Thank you for helping me. I'm much happier here. Keep up the good work.

.....i had a litter of 'cute baby skunks' born in my oak chest of drawers a few years ago...i had to wait for them to get old enough to leave! Meanwhile, the clothes in that drawer got chewed up & pooped in, plus they made noise all night long! It was aweful!

Tatoulia, congrats on getting your slide project done AND everything else you get accomplished & all of it being really important stuff! I barely get my place better every day. I had to google what 'watching netflix and chill' meant & im still confused cuz it was a list of jokes and memes about it but it kinda seemed to imply having a sexy date while watching movies....ive been out in the woods too long...ha ha...what watch is either dvd movies or box sets of tv shows.
It seems like were having cooler days now, so im going jogging again. I want to start clearing weeds too, now that i can work outside in the day without pouring sweat the whole time.
It seems like im staying clear on my plans with things here for longer than i have before. That seems really positive to me! Usually, i realize some problem with the plan & have to change to something else, which totally derails my energy & motivation.
The 2 things that have consistantly kept me on track have been. Do small tasks to completion before making new decisions. And do things ive decided on before making new decisions. ...wow, decisions are a huge factor for me...hmmm....

WOW?!! Tillie you are amazingly multi-talented! From what ive heard, birds are really hard to help? I have called that same desert museum with questions on my wildlife!
Tatoulia, the vet wont likely be familiar with Nutritional Yeast....and i was gonna congratulate you on something, but i didnt write it down before i started typing & now i cant remember...hmmm...
Waking up to both pretty new curtains in the kitchen was really nice! It is a double dose of improvement cuz i can see them from the main area outside, too! It totally changes the way it looks out front as well as inside!!! YES!!! πŸ˜€

Hello Everyone πŸ™‚

Back from the Dentist's.
Everything looks good, only one tiny area they plan to keep an eye on.
Have to go back again in 6 months, as always. πŸ™

Hi Tatoulia πŸ™‚
I would ask the Vet before giving the kitten the brewers yeast. It could cause her to get colicky.
WAY TO GO! for meatballs! πŸ˜€
(((HUGS))) that your test results are good news.
Hope you manage to get all those extra hours away from work over the weekend. πŸ˜‰

Hi Anonymoniker πŸ™‚
I am not a city person, never have been.
I am well educated about all these different critters that visit me.
I live right beside a migratory bird and wildlife sanctuary.
When I lived in Tucson I was friends with the curator of small animals at The Sonoran Desert Museum who taught me how to care for baby and injured birds and rehabilitate them back into the wild.
I had a wild bird sanctuary in my home and raised hundreds of baby birds and doctored ill & injured mature birds back to health.
I have also successfully hand raised many baby mammals.
So you can quit worrying about me being taken advantage of by that soooo cute baby skunk. πŸ˜€

Trying to think what to make to eat.
I'm not really hungry but probably will be sometime.
Maybe rice and steamed veggies?

Ran out of time. Only have three more slides to go. Finishing up a load of laundry that needs to be hung to dry (sadly in bathroom and not outside), got everything put away from meatballs and am running dishwasher. Just took a nice cool shower.

No time to vacuum and rug is driving me nuts. I can see cat fur all over it.

I am trying not to be mad at myself but I was overheated and upset and I have too many worries. Going to spend a little time with my cat and then finish watching a movie I started a few nights ago Desk Set with Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. Typical 1950s romance alΓ  Doris Day/Rock Hudson and I am loving every minute of it.

Goodnight. I wish I were working from home tomorrow but I must go in. Having a business lunch with someone. I can be home Wednesday and we will likely close at 2 or 3 on Friday, just to kick off the long weekend. If I play my cards right I might be able to work from home on Thursday, too. Depends how much has piled up at the office.

I hear you Anony, no need to justify yourself. Netflix and Chill is a perfectly acceptable way to spend an afternoon and no need to have to justify it!

Made my meatballs. Working on slides. Hoping to be done with slides so I can take at least an hour to clean.

That is very good advice re Brewers yeast. I had forgotten about its nutritional value!

Keeping my fingers crossed for lab results tomorrow. Had a nice talk with mom earlier today re if it's terrible news, we will survive. But after seeing the little friend, I'm not so sure it's going to be super terrible. Time will tell.

Ttyl.

Tillie, im sorry i sound like im lecturing you about the skunks. Its just you would not believe what i have been through with them! They are impossible to chase out, cuz theyll just spray you instead! They are unlike any other wild animal...or any kind of animal at all...of 20 years of fending off animals in my jungle, skunks have been by far the most difficult....blah blah end of rant...ha ha...sorry...i do have some funny stories with them, tho...like some of the hilarious looking mixes of the different 4 species....the funniest had like a thick, long white toupee on...one was so clean & well groomed, i thought it was a someone's pet straight from a grooming saloon...ha ha...You are doing the right thing!!! Good for you!!! It is tempting, i know...they are very cute!!! πŸ˜€

Tillie, that is wise not to feed the baby skunks, cuz as babies they need to learn to find food in nature or youll likely have them finding a way in your house!
Tatoulia, im so glad the kitty is doing better. I feel ljke im always bugging people with natural remedies, etc., but if the kitty has a Vitamin B-12 deficiency, Nurtitional Yeast is a great healthy source & kitties love it & its great for humans, too! It tastes like cheese! Also, i keep thinking about what you said about finding a boyfriend that understands having each other's own space. I have become very relieved to not have to constantly account for my time to anyone! When i was with my ex id worry about how id explain my day as being justified to him...AAACK!!! I am realy loving having days to myself. I can stay up late & sleep late & dont have to adapt to his schedule!!!
When i got up and saw my beautiful new curtain in the kitchen it made me very happy!! πŸ˜€

Hello Tillie!

It's got to take a lot to say no to the beggar skunk, but you are doing the right thing.

I stopped at mom's and tiny cat stood on her hind legs when I went to feed her. So that's good. She even sat on mom's lap for a while. I changed mom's sheets and now I'm home, cooking the meatballs I made. They smell delicious but likely won't be done for a while. I am going to work on Tuesday's slide presentation and then put on some music and clean.

I'll report back later! Thank you for being here, Tillie and Anon. I wish we could lure some of our other friends back--but I know they'll find their way home. Till then, we'll leave a light on.

Hi Tatoulia πŸ™‚
That's such GREAT news to hear that Kitty is eating and acting perkier! πŸ˜€
Hope all your worries turn out to be for nothing and you enjoy nothing but peace (((HUGS)))

Scooter was out front near the porch,
I went to step out on the porch and encountered a snake just on it's way in through the door I had propped open for Scooter to get back inside.
It was a tiny Corn snake, just a baby about 14 inches long and skinny as a pencil.
When it saw me it turned and ran quickly back into the flower garden.
Marty came with me over to the neighbor friend's house this morning and decided he was going to live there now.
When he gets hungry enough, he will come back home.
The baby skunk that used to steal the cat food until I started bringing it in at sundown has started to beg.
It gets on the porch at night and when I talk to it through the window it comes to the corner of the porch where the window is and looks at me with a sad pleading face.
It is SOOOOOO freakin cute!
But I have been strong and not given in even though I really want to. πŸ˜€

Good afternoon, everyone.

Today my worries have worries.

But, I'm happy when speaking with you! Anony, great work on curtains and other projects. I'm pleased that you've found a way to do nighttime projects again, in a healthier setting. Also glad you confided in your friend. Just do the best that you can.

Tillie! Cats in boxes! My BF's cat has a "no box too small" philosophy, which really cracks me up. My cat is not a box cat. Mom's cat ate an entire can of fancy feast yesterday (over the course of the day) and jumped on mom's bed this AM. I think between the B12 shot and the fancy feast, she's starting to feel a little better.

Right now waiting for someone--took him on errands. Cleaned someone else's kitchen today. Just want to get back home.

Good Morning Everyone πŸ™‚

Almost 10:00am here.

Hi Anonymoniker πŸ™‚
Happy you contacted your friend and that she seems to understand. (((hugs)))
YEA! for remembering how to use that sewing machine! πŸ˜€

Hi Tatoulia πŸ™‚
I have cardboard boxes placed in areas all around this place because the cats really like to sit in them all day long.
It's a "Cat Thing" ;P
WAY TO GO!!! for being so strong and resisting those evil "free" frames! πŸ˜€

Have a list of stuff I plan to do today.
Nothing much really.
Just want to have this stuff done before my dental appointment tomorrow.
Light burn barrel, laundry, wash my hair, get car sorta cleaned off.
Really need to do a pedicure. Noticed that walking around outside barefoot in the garden has gotten a lot of dirt under my toe nails. LOL

Everybody have a wonderful day. πŸ™‚
