THE GRATITUDE LIST

The Gratitude List

Hi All!
Sorry I have been so absent lately, things are just extremely busy for me right now. I have been working with a business coach and he is helping me as a person, not just a businessman. With that being said, I want to share with you one of the exercises he has been having me do daily which I think has helped me a lot deal with the stresses of every day life. Each day for 21 days, I write down 3 things I am grateful for. That's it! Why is this important? We all tend to hold onto the negative things in life, instead of stepping back and appreciating everything that is good in our lives. I encourage you to try this, and remind yourself everything you have in your life that you are grateful for. It can be anything and everything from your health, to friends on this board, a beating heart, a roof over your head, etc. I think you can all find this helpful in reeling in the emotions that can cause us undue stress each day. Make your own list and post it here for the next 21 days. Can you commit to that?

My daily list:
1) God
2) My Family
3) My Health

Lets see yours now 🙂

Today the sidewalks were completely clear, it was sunny, and not so beastly cold. I took each of the dogs for a long walk. I am grateful for being able to actually enjoy being outdoors again.

Today I am grateful ~

that I am learning to let go of past failures and focus on each fresh hour

that I don't feel as much fear as I used to

that I'm starting to enjoy the thought of other people enjoying my things; that giving away something (like a big favorite stuffed animal) is not a terrible loss for me but a lovely gain for that person

Picture a small group of little girls all sitting around discussing what their favorite hymn is.
My kid sister says her's is the one about the bear.
What bear?
You know, the bear with the crossed eyes.
What are you talikng about?
That song with that bear named Gladly.
Are you talking about "Gladly, The Cross I'd bear?"
After I had explained the song to her, her next choice for favorite hymn was the one about "Bringing In The Sheep".

Today I'm grateful ~

for pretty snow that won't be here long

for a reminder of how much music can lift my spirits

that I get to go with my grandkids and sit in on the faith formation class tonight

that I can thoroughly enjoy the funny stuff kids say, they kill me with stifled laughter

Teacher showing pic of Mary and Joseph taking Jesus to the temple and asks, does anyone know who Mary and Joseph are? Kid answers, Mary is the mother of Jesus and Joseph is his stepfather. I'm gonna have one of those.

Teacher asks, does anyone know what a temple is? Antsy boy jumps up, I do I do! It's the Ancient Temple of Doom where you die!

So grateful for kids! 🙂
