THE GRATITUDE LIST

The Gratitude List

Hi All!
Sorry I have been so absent lately, things are just extremely busy for me right now. I have been working with a business coach and he is helping me as a person, not just a businessman. With that being said, I want to share with you one of the exercises he has been having me do daily which I think has helped me a lot deal with the stresses of every day life. Each day for 21 days, I write down 3 things I am grateful for. That's it! Why is this important? We all tend to hold onto the negative things in life, instead of stepping back and appreciating everything that is good in our lives. I encourage you to try this, and remind yourself everything you have in your life that you are grateful for. It can be anything and everything from your health, to friends on this board, a beating heart, a roof over your head, etc. I think you can all find this helpful in reeling in the emotions that can cause us undue stress each day. Make your own list and post it here for the next 21 days. Can you commit to that?

My daily list:
1) God
2) My Family
3) My Health

Lets see yours now 🙂

Roxie, you are not alone, lots of us think about you daily and wish you the best. Sometimes I still feel so alone with so much to do and I am grateful you post daily (when not in hospital)

today I am grateful that I woke up too early yet still feel ok and that I got a lot done already

that I am able to take a huge gate off, carry it to yard, paint it and reattach, great health

that I finished insulating around ac so will be cooler

that I can fill my garbage can with useless stuff I have left scattered around, for pickup tomorrow, if it needs to be washed or fixed to donate, it is going to dump

I am grateful for:
Neighbors who brought me fresh picked sweet corn for dinner (1st of the season, yum)
The plumber who is coming out to give an estimate next Monday. (It makes me feel very anxious knowing I have to push myself to get the areas clean that he will need access to, but little by little, day by day, I WILL get it done. I can do this.)
Friends on the chat line and message boards who keep me moving forward in the right direction.

I am grateful to have enough cat food to last for awhile.

--Grateful I could cancel a few monthly bills (services) I don't really need, like ancestry.com.

--Grateful that wearing the cast for so long (off now) let my fingernails grow because I couldn't chew on them. lol

I am grateful for the financial prosperity that enabled me to purchase the toys and items for my children that still fill my house. While I suffer from difficulty decluttering, at least we always had more than we needed and have never been homeless or hungry.

Grateful for a reminder that, while a bucket list still has a place in my heart, gratitude lists make me feel better today;

--grateful for new and old friends on the board and interesting experiences to share with them about your lives;

--grateful that I never once begged to leave the hospital after I so reluctantly agreed to stay (when in ER);

--grateful for the strangers here and there that notice me and stop to inquire or offer assistance when I need it. It's so heartwarming and hopeful a thing, random kindness.
