Hello, happy hoarders! Yall sound like a bunch of neat-freaks from reading the recent posts?!! That is fantastic! Congratulations on getting so much done!
I finally came up with an idea for putting away clothes that im too old for, and my tummy isnt flat enough for. Id been worried that packing them away in my storage shed would be akin to defeat of ever getting my teen-tummy back(dont laugh...ha ha), then it dawned on me that is the tubs are brightly decorated, it would somehow feel different, so thats what im gonna do, is put colorful labels in my favorite colors on construction paperon the tubs so they look pretty. I may never end up wearing them again, but somehow this seemed like a way to get unstuck...im not sure why, but im gonna try it! I have 3 big tubs already & im gonna start next week & see if i can create space in my bedroom to put the laundry of 2015-2016 away! ha ha...not funny really, but ha ha ;D

Good Morning Everybody 🙂

Hi Tatoulia 🙂
Nice that you had a pleasant dinner out with a friend. 🙂
WTG! for buying only the one screen repair kit!
Let the store hold onto them for you until you need one again. (((hugs)))

Hi Diane 🙂
Hoping you are out thee having a wonderful time at the Rock Powwow! 😀
WTG! for keeping the clothes neatly put away!
See how far you have come with that? 😀

It is so difficult to take a few minutes and get in there and clean the sink and toilet because it didn't used to be so easy and there used to be so much more involved in doing it.
Your thinking mind knows that now it is an easier task but your subconscious mind is still screaming "NOOOOOO!" at the thought.
Just by repeatedly doing this task, eventually your subconscious will reprogram it's self and quit fighting with you. (((hugs)))

Today I have a lot to do.
Cook some food, clean the kitchen.
Water gardens & grass, tie upright the gladiolus somehow.
Straighten up in here.
I'm still worn out from my trip into town yesterday.
Planning to take the weekend off if possible and just read.
We'll see. ;D

Hi everyone and triple t. Tat, Tess and Tillie, thanks for posting. I did not go shopping. Started trimming stuff in the yard, cut buggy branches off yukky trees. Pulled some weeds and trimmed around edges of grass. Then sorted some rounded rocks for tumbler. Have tumblers ready just need to put water and grit in. So worked in yard all day, then sat for 6 minutes and enjoyed my yard and view. Came in and there was email from dogs owner. She said her husband said I can take dog on all day trip, he saved the day. I was ready to go anyway. So tomorrow I am going to a town 35 north of here to the Rock Pow Wow. Similar to the rock show I went to last week in another town. May get a side trip to the country---shhhh. Did dishes, very little else in here, just happy I did not mess up anything. I have continued to fold up underwear after washed and put in drawer. This is the first time in my life that I have had drawers organized. Always just threw everything in drawer together, never knew what was actually in there. So nice to open drawer and see neatly folded undies and tops. Closet has stayed organized, and no clothes on floor or hanging on doors, bathtub, it really is a miracle. I know it would take 3 minutes to clean toilet and sink, so why is it so difficult?

Hello! Had dinner with a girlfriend visiting from out of town tonight. Nice time--I'm at the age where an early dinner suits me fine! Like getting home at an early hour.

The only household thing I did today was to repair a screen for one of my windows. Just a cheap little kid I bought at the hardware store a few weeks ago. Let's see if the repair lasts. Funny, when I bought it I started to buy two, out of habit of buying multiples. Then I stopped and bought just one.

Tess, I have to agree with you--bring part of this group is such a joy. I would not have had my successes without the friendships, support, and candor that everyone here offers. Good luck getting organized! Let me know what you do with the banker's boxes! And if I haven't done do before, then please know how much I appreciate and value your support!!

Tillie, that hot dry weather must be something! I remember only once or twice in my life being in a windy situation where the wind was hot.

Diane, hope the shopping went well today! I remember when you installed your freezer--boy you have accomplished so much these last few years!

I will gather up the garbage and treat myself to an early night in bed. It is only 822 here and likely I won't fall asleep before midnight but I'd like to get settled in. Wishing you all sweet dreams.

Hi Everyone 🙂
4:30pm here right now...

Hi Tess 🙂
GREAT! sticking to your grocery plans! 😀
You can send all your rain my way, we really need it. 😀

Hi Tatoulia 🙂
WAY TO GO!!! FANTASTIC!!! 😀
Doing those little putting away & cleaning up tasks really make a HUGE difference.
A few minutes here & there keeps it from being a long tedious task later on. (((hugs)))

Hi Diane 🙂
How did the shopping trip go?
Hope you got frozen fruit for smoothies. 😀
You always find ingenious ways to fix up things, I am impressed. 😀
WAY TO GO!!! for keeping up with the usual daily stuff. (((hugs)))

Got up early this morning and went into town for groceries.
100 degrees today with strong & gusting winds.
Red flag warnings for wildfire season today.
Came home & put away groceries, ate lunch and took a little nap.
The wind has knocked over my pretty blooming gladiolus, need to tie them up, some how. :/

TTYS 🙂

It still motivates me every day to see what you all are doing. Yay us! So much progress!

Today I went grocery shopping. I'm proud of myself because I planned a menu and stuck to it! I would have gone overboard in the past. I also bought some bankers boxes. I'm going to use them somehow to start getting organized this weekend.

It is a yucky rainy day here. I'm going to make some grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner and then clean up my messes from yesterday. Then I'm going to call it a night.

Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a great day! I will continue working on house in little spurts today. Nice to have the living room/dining area swept and the rugs all vacuumed. Thanks for your unwavering support! Let's keep moving forward!

Tat you are amazing--so much done, after working all day. I was thinking how amazing it is that you and others work and still do things after work. When I worked, I was a veg at night, well don't have work excuse anymore--------can blame it on the heat today-----computer games can waste lots of time, no more games tonight. I will be happy when the dog goes home to tell you the truth. I could not get the plexiglass cut, too thick. So took some metal and taped it to broken door, seems sturdy enough, we will see. sweet dreams to us all.

Thank you for your support--we did it! With your help, I vacuumed the den (I like to refer to it as my library!), the rug under my desk and the living room couch! I put a clean sheet on the couch for the kittycat and then I cleaned up her area where she eats. I change her placemat once a week but I think I need to go to twice a week. (She gets clean plates of food daily and two clean bowls of water, too). I gave her all fresh kibble in fresh bowls and she is all set. It looks nice in here.

Diane, fun time with the dog today! And I'm impressed with the cleaning and maintenance you've been doing! Very inspiring. Enjoy Costco tomorrow! Tess--great to hear you are taking care of yourself! Ordering take-away is a nice treat. I am often too tired to cook after working all day. I can work from home a couple of days a week, which makes things a little easier. And Tillie, what would I do without your hugs??

Thank you all for a great day! Need to take care of the dishes, take a shower and relax.

Hi everyone. Such fun reading all of your posts and humor. Thanks.
I cleaned up some stuff in yard, that was just productive procrastination, no one could notice clean area. Put up an umbrella out by shed where lots of rocks are sorted, since I get so much wind here, I nailed umbrella stand to table, funny girl. Dog and I enjoyed the shade. I blew up a kiddie pool for dog, it was hilarious, he got right in, splashed then ran in the dirt as fast as he could then jumped back in pool, over and over, big mud puddle instead of kiddie pool after an hour of this fun. Think this was a one day only pool fun. He was dry before came in to nap. Did dishes, still need to clean counters. One load laundry washed and hung out. Dog jumped in my bed at 5am and would not leave, so not enough sleep 2 nights in a row. Tomorrow is going to be cooler so plan to go to Costco and spend too much money, yippee. I am going to fill a bin with rocks to prevent his escape. I am going to try to cut a piece of plexiglass to fit in dog door opening, it is sturdier than door he broke. When I am tired I do not get much done, especially in the heat, although not that hot today. The 10 minute reminder is helpful, watch out toilet.

Tatoulia, you can totally do it! Keep taking small steps and you'll get there.

Today I was planning to go grocery shopping and do more work in my bedroom. Instead I'm going to get some take out for dinner and relax. I'll get back to cleaning tomorrow.

Have a good night everybody!

Tillie, since coming on this site and making friends with everyone here, I too have found it easier to let go when a loved item breaks or wears out. Now I can tell myself, boy I really loved that-rather than feel bad. I had to learn this when getting rid of things--"but I loved that so much" --accurate, and time to let someone else love it. Hard lesson to learn but it stuck with me.

The lesson I'm working on now is getting things clean and keeping things clean. Everytime I unload the dishwasher I say, look, not even five minutes. Everytime unfold and put away laundry, well that took no time at all. I have incorporated the "what can I do to make this room better," and find I am consistently picking up a quarter or bottle cap or whatever else has fallen to the floor.

I think this is the summer I resume having a clean house. I think I can do it.

Good Morning Everybody 🙂

Hi Dave 🙂
Sorry to hear that. 🙁
I hadn't realized the free range fireflies had unionized.

Hi Tatoulia 🙂
Do whatever it takes to shut up those negative dialogs in your head.
They are liars and don't deserve to exist. (((hugs)))
FANTASTIC!!! your broom isn't broken! ;D
Sure, we can help you keep an eye on that broom to make sure it keeps working. 😀

My Dollar Tree gladiolas have started blooming this morning. 😀
Yesterday I managed to break my absolutely favorite drinking glass, an antique crystal goblet.
Had it for years and used and thoroughly enjoyed it all the time.
I could have not used it and kept it bubble wrapped and safely stored in a box.
But I am so very happy to have been able to enjoy it for as long as I did.
Breaking the goblet is not a sad time. It is a celebration of all the joy drinking from it brought me.
🙂

Would you believe that my broom isn't broken? Why I picked it up and swept the living room floor and it worked just fine.

Can I ask everyone here to remind me of this? Next time I'm yelling at myself? Perhaps a gentle nudge to ask if my broom is doing okay and then I'll go check on it?!?

Good to read everyone's posts--including the cameo by Scooter!

It is a relatively humid free day here. I can and will do some vacuuming and bathroom cleaning. I keep telling myself, when it's hot and humid and I am sitting around like a limp rag, the mess and dirt and clutter bother me even more, which sets off a dialogue in my head about how stupid and useless I am. So let me find the few minutes it would take to stop the messages and replace them with, hey, that didn't take too long!

Hi Diane 🙂
LOL LOVE the dead dog picture! 😀
WAY TO GO! finding other enjoyable things to do since you are put in "time out". (((hugs)))
Yes, that full moon was beautiful. Bet we were both looking at it at the exact time too. 🙂
As a kid we had a special way to wish on the moon.
Looking at the moon we would say...
"I see the moon
the moon sees me
the moon sees who I want to see"
Then we would say the person's name three times.
Hopefully, we would get to see that person in the near future.

Hi Tess 🙂
WAY TO GO!!!
Sloppy Joes, strawberries and a movie in bed! 😀
Wonderful that you are doing the 10 minute tidy ups.
It's the way I keep from having big overwhelming clean ups to do. (((hugs)))

Hi Tatoulia 🙂
Happy the room is pleasant with the ceiling fan on.
Sleep well and sweet dreams. 🙂 (((hugs)))

Good night everyone. 🙂

Scooter, Scooter, Scooter...
Yesterday you, Marty and Twinkles were all together torturing one tiny mouse out in the grass, and yet you ALL managed to lose him.
Mouse outsmarted ALL of you useless excuses for cats and got away unscathed.
You have no attention span, none whatsoever. You are too easily distracted.
No way you three idiots would be able to take on someone as crafty as Stinky. ;P

Scooter, are you familiar with stinky in your house?
Now it is Tripple T, Tat, Tess, Tillie, I like that.
Dog will be here until Monday around noon. Tomorrow will be better. I even dusted today after reading you dusted!!! Very little done today. Cleaning bathroom would be a good thing to do tomorrow for me too. My gut finally stopped aching. Thanks for all of your updates, fun to read.

Hello everyone--good to read your posts--and glad to see everyone is doing well--including the doggie with the muddy face and Scooter with the plum highlights!

I went into office today and stayed late, have been relaxing since I got home. Not too humid here. Tess, I find the hot and humid weather drains me. I can't breathe, move, etc without feeling absolutely miserable. Was like this as a child, too. I love the cool weather and even cold weather.

Tonight with ceiling fan on and windows open, it is quite pleasant. Will call it a night, I think. Let's see if I can clean bathroom and vacuum bedroom and den tomorrow. Those things would make me so happy. and I bet the vacuuming wouldn't take more than a few minutes of time.

Much love, Tatoulia.

Today i was a bit ambitious with my "to do" list. I filled my gas tank and cleaned the car after work. I don't know why I hate doing that so much, but I do. Glad it's done. I also stopped to pick up what I needed for sloppy joes (they were delicious!) and returned a movie I've been forgetting to return.

Tonight I'm going to clean the cat box, take the trash to the curb, and then spend 10 minutes picking up in my bedroom and cleaning my mess in the kitchen. After a shower, I'm going to reward myself with a big bowl of strawberries and a movie in bed. The strawberries in sugary syrup. Yum! I'm exhausted just thinking about all of that. Wish me luck.

Diane - how long will you have the dog?

Thank you so much for your kind words and loving support of my dog sitting. I did shower, washed sheets, felt good going to bed in clean sheets. Went to library, returned all the overdue stuff, checked out some movies. Woke up several times with dog barking, wanting toys he broke, and I put up out of reach. Full moon was beautiful. The brat part of me really wanted to take dog on an outing today-----instead we played fetch in yard. Then for fun I washed and sorted some rocks to tumble. When I came in there was email from dog owners, requesting I mail a photo of dog from today, bet they thought I was out on an outing!!!!! He is sleeping and has a muddy face from digging in dirt. I took a picture of him sleeping, after I emailed it, I cracked up laughing, the way he is laying in photo he looks dead!!!! Imagine the next email I get hahahahahahah I feel so much better after reading your posts, knowing I am treating the dog better than a kennel would. I did offer to take dog to kennel, if they were worried, they said no just no outings. Dog head butted dog door closure until it broke so duct taped it together, have to find something sturdier, so I can go to store. Feel a bit trapped with dog not going on outings, and he is escape artist. Sure hope you all have a wonderful day. Thanks again for your kindness, I really needed it. I know I am too sensitive to criticism, and today I want to isolate from all humans. Thought just occurred to me to stop criticizing myself, good plan for today. Maybe clean up one area on deck, that will make me feel better.

Good Morning Everybody 🙂

Hi Tatoulia 🙂
The painting went well and the plum color looks lovely on Scooter (the cat). 😉
WAY TO GO! for keeping up with all those routine tasks.
Every little thing we do all adds up to one big overall improvement in our homes and lives.
Even just doing the minimum some times is great! 😀

Hi Diane 🙂
Sorry to hear you cancelled your next outing. 🙁
The people I dog sit for appreciate all that I do for their dogs. I tell them about everything and they are always so very thankful that I handled the situations and returned their dogs to them alive, happy and healthy.
I could say a lot more about your loaner dog's owner but I will bite my tongue here.
About shopping, even the "Good Humor" ice cream man has nothing to sell to us to make us feel all better. (((HUGS)))
About showering, I write it down on my "To-Do" list so I can make sure to schedule it in before bedtime.
Many times it is the only thing written down on my list. 😉

Hi Dave 🙂
WooHoo! 😀
Did you catch any and put them in a jar to sit on your nightstand to use as a night light?

Hi Tess 🙂
WAY TO GO! for gathering a bag of trash even on this very stressful day! 😀
Retail therapy only temporarily relieves stress while we are still in the store.
And as we all know, all the excess stuff in our homes adds more stress to our already stressed out lives.
Since you have been craving sloppy joes I suggest you make up some.
It is comfort food and mine made me happy and content. (((hugs)))

Last two nights I have woken up at about 3:00am and can't get back to sleep.
I don't know if it's the bright moonlight or the resident skunk in the yard.
Going out to water the trees and bushes at 7:00am then planning to just play the rest of the day.
Hope the skunk has left because all the cats want to come outside with me.
They know Stinky is out there and are curious about her.

TTYS 🙂

I hope everybody had a good day! I had hopes of making it to an exercise class after work and doing more work in my bedroom. However, work got in the way. I had a very long, very stressful day. Instead I brought even more work home and then vegged out. I did gather a bag of trash before work. So that's better than nothing. Days like this (and retail therapy) are how I got into this mess to begin with. I have to remember that and try to stop stress from getting the best of me.

Tillie -I've been craving sloppy joes for days. Sounds delicious. How did the cabinets turn out?

Tatoulia - I'm not a fan of heat. I'm always more productive on cooler or even rainy days. Are you itching to get outside? Or just restless? Yay for doing the laundry and dusting. That is something off your plate. It might not be what you wanted to do, but it is better than nothing!!! Baby steps add up.

Diane - that sounds like a stressful situation. Is the dog ok? I'm sure he enjoyed his outing before his attack. There is some comfort there. Hugs to you!

Sorry about the situation with the dog, Diane. I too would feel all stirred up. You did the right thing by taking the dog on a nice walk and I'm glad you got him home for his medicine. It must've been scary for both of you. I'm sorry the people scolded you. I would've felt like I should've kept the incident to myself but like you would've told the owners. Such is life, I'm afraid. Hoping you are feeling better-

Dave! How I love lightening bugs!

Tillie well I didn't do anything remarkable today but the kitchen sink is clear for the AM, all laundry for the week is done, garbage is out and kitty's box has been changed. All routine stuff but all done. I hope your painting project went well!!
