Here is our Daily Tally thread.

Anyone can post here and can share what they are decluttering. You can use whatever unit works for you:

cubic feet cleared
pounds of stuff gone
number of items donated
number of bags or boxes gone
whatever works!

It's a way to see and report the progress we are making on clearing out space in our homes. You can set a goal for each day, week, or month or you can just share as you wish.

Let's celebrate the progress we are making!

Good morning. I tossed and donated a few things today but didn't write them down. I will see what I can remember:

An old medication, a velvet necklace envelope, a pair of holey underwear, an old bottle of conditioner.

I also cut up a whole pile of old credit cards and tossed some old paperwork, but I am not counting that in my tally.

Will add more later today.

5 more items gone. The scrawny house plant I threw out, and some stuff into the donate bin including a small glass, some kind of tape, a brand new hot/cold mit for injuries (I have another one exactly the same), and some other random thing.

Yesterday I donated two socks with small holes. The place I am donating to recycles fabric.

I really need to get a move on and get this tally going up again!

This morning's tally from the storage unit = 2 to 3 cubic feet, mostly rubber stamps and books. A few religious ones I'm going to see if the teachers at the parish school would like for the kids to use. The rest will go to the garage sale to see if they sell. Leftovers will go in church rummage sale in June.

Out went a box of ex's junk that was hiding behind a chair, all useless crap. I'm just counting this as one item.

At storage unit today, pulled out +/- 3 cubic feet of books and misc. for senior center garage sale next week. Including a big old lidless plastic tub that I loathe.

Planted peas. They were the wrong seeds, but I've decided to give myself credit anyway.

Got frustrated with the pullet pen. Completely disassembled and rebuilt it better. Moved the chicks in.

I went to the bank and finally got a thing resolved. It ended up only costing me $10.

?for 200 items!?

Yesterday I cleaned the chicken coop and worked on my pottery class homework.

25/300 I am 1/12 of the way there in about a month. I am not necessarily accomplishing discrete things each day I work on my non-routine/not just survival/daily maintenance things, but I am making progress on them each time.

I am letting the house slowly get messier again though. For now I am happy with the trade off.

one bra, new but too small, into the donate bin.

I need someone to take this donate box out to my car for me. I always feel uneasy when the box is still in my bedroom, like I might dig through it and take things back out. I want to start a fresh box.

Two of those diocesan newspapers that I was saying I need to move on out of here. It's a start. I'm not trying to read all of each paper, just doing a quick flip through.

Also one free agricultural newspaper that they distribute around here at grocery stores, and that I pick up for the Sudoku. Usually I'm good about getting them gone promptly after finishing the puzzle, but this one must've slid down out of sight. We keep a SMALL stack of newspapers for soaking up spills, so it's still technically here but not in my room and if that stack got too big we would reduce it.

Yesterday I signed up for the spring pottery sale and potted up some of my seedlings (unfortunately not all that need it, but some. Poco a poco.)

Yesterday I cleared the sale display off my class shelf and replaced the work in progress. I'm calling that a win.

Okay, technically not a hoard item, but I did jettison a hideous science experiment from the vegetable bin, which at first I couldn't identify. Then I recognized it as what, in a former life, was a couple of slices of Provolone cheese in an unmarked ziploc bag.

And then I removed the bin, which had some gross ick in the bottom, washed it thoroughly and wiped down the place where it goes, and put it back. I've been demotivated so this was an easy yet satisfying thing to do.

I dug out the shearing stand and swept it off so I could immobilize momma goat and start teaching Shamrock to nurse. He can't be a house pet.

It was an emergency, but it is also progress.

Recycled the last of the magazines.
Darned the socks with holes in them I brought along so I can wear them tomorrow.

Worked on some school planning and prep to make the last ten weeks a little bit easier.

My goal is to hit 200 today.

Adding to the donation bin: 3 more small glasses and 3 shirts someone gave me that I really don't need to save.

oh, I hope the baby makes it, SubC.

My tally for yesterday: I put 2 small glasses in the donation box, and used a third one to fill with wax and threw it away. Sorry to the recyclers; I gave myself a pass on some recycling while I am digging out from under.

I also washed a big candle jar and this morning decided it was nice, but I don't need it. So I out it in the donation bin this morning.

CM,

Poco a poco! Just keep moving forward!

Lila, once upon a time I had alpacas. I shear, card, spin, and knit and I have all the equipment.

The goat is 4 years old. She's very sweet and placid. She was sold with the expectation of a single kid this spring. While I was picking dd up for surgery yesterday, I got a note from my farm sitter that during the night she had kidded with twin bucklings.

Unfortunately one of them had a rather gruesome fatal birth defect. He did provide valuable genetic information though. His brother has been struggling and we thought we would lose him, but - my farm sitter is an angel and took him home last night, put him in bed with her on a heating pad, and bottle fed him every few hours. This morning it looks like he has a chance, but no guarantees.

If he lives my plan is to just pet him all the time.

Back to the tally, I read through and recycled four magazines while I waited for DD's surgery yesterday.

An angora goat!!!!!! Those are beautiful! What are your plans, to make things out of the wool/hair I am guessing? Or to sit and let it all day like I would do?? LOL! How old is it?

I have not added to my tally yet, but I will by the end of the day.
