I live in Ohio and my in-laws live in West Virginia, a very rural and humble area. My husband's father is a carpenter by trade, so that makes this all the worse, but not only is the house full of piled up things but part of the roof in one room has caved in...and his father has never fixed it, so needless to say not only is there probably black mold but I'm assuming all that stuff in that room is probably pretty bad off as well. I really think if this home were located in any other state, it would have been condemned. I am very much concerned about their health. They are getting older and one has a bad back and other health issues, the other has gout. Since they don't have health insurance, I doubt this will get better. We plan on moving to West Viriginia eventually but they live four hours away from us at this point. I tried to get his mother to get rid of his sister's clothes that she insists his sister will come get "someday" but the most we could do is get her to bag up the clothes and move them around. Do you (or anyone else) know of any organization that helps with this in West Viriginia? Heather | |
