Hello. I'm in the midst of cleaning up a hoarding situation. The kitchen was infested with flies for a long time and now there are little brown "spots" (you can feel them, they aren't stains) all over the kitchen cabinets, walls and ceilings. I'm assuming it is fly excrement, but could be wrong. Does anyone have a good way to remove these without ruining the finish of wood cabinets? They don't scrape off easy and I was wondering if there is an application that can be applied safely to the surface and then perhaps wiped down/off removing the spots. I'd be grateful for any help.

Yes, that is fly vomit. Usually kitchens are painted with a glossy paint. Other areas might be painted with flat paint. The glossy areas you can spray with any cleaning solution like 409, simple green, etc and let it sit for a few minutes then scrub it off with a kitchen sponge that has the abrasive side to it. Then just wipe it away with a paper towel or a rag. The flat paint you can use the same process but the scrubbing can take the paint and texture off so be careful.
