My first advice would be to find a psychiatrist in your area who can diagnose and treat ADD or any other comorbid psychiatric conditions. You cannot be successful treating the symptom but not the cause.
Secondly, if you intend on cleaning out yourself, I would suggest that you purchase (or borrow from the library) Buried in Treasures, Steketee/Frost. It is an outstanding book to help you understand the disorder and recover one step at a time.
Third, it always helps if you have a "coach" to encourage you along the way. See if you can enlist the help of a family member, friend or other trusting adult. There are instructions for coaches in the book.
