I am liquidating two businesses: a) gift baskets and b) jewelry for which I have about 10K of inventory, tools, supplies, etc. I don't have time to inventory all of the items that I have to liquidate and am hoping to find a reputable, licensed, bonded service who will take the businesses lock, stock and barrel, inventory the items and auction them off. I am sure that their percentage might be fairly high but the money they would be getting me is more than I have now and the peace of mind in our uncluttered home would be.... priceless...
Please share any experience you would have with this. I had considered donating the contents of each but the work necessary to get the much needed tax deduction is not realistic for me given my current disability. Please keep in mind that I have no family or support system locally available and since we had some very (!!!) bad experiences with the last few rounds of paid and volunteer help, my husband will not let anyone into our home. That part is sad because we did have some good volunteers but just can't risk what happened to us from the bad ones. Also, doing one box at a time not realistic... moving and it has to all go quickly!! Thank you!
